The Bluestone Marching Barons performed well in their first competition of the year. Competing in the Franklin County Classic at Franklin County High School located in Rocky Mount, VA, the Marching Barons played and marched well scoring high marks on Saturday. Among the awards received by the Barons during this competition were:
- A Superior Music Rating
- 1st Place Drum Line for Class AAA
- 2nd Place in Music for Class AAA
- 2nd Place Color Guard for Class AAA
- 3rd Place overall in Class AAA
Among the bands competing in Class AAA this weekend were Park View High School and Heritage High School. As a side note, The Appomattox Band under the direction of Ricky Allgood Junior also performed well. Could there be some family competition in the future?!
